Georgia Invitational

A total of 319 golfers turned out the 19th Annual Museum of Aviation Foundation Georgia Invitational Golf Tournament September 18-19 at the Pine Oaks Golf Courses at Robins Air Force Base. The event was another success raising a total of $352,000 for the Museum of Aviation Foundation. Former Senator Sam Nunn who started the tournaments in 1990 returned to participate and speak to gatherings during the two-day event. To date, the total raised for the Museum of Aviation in all tournaments has reached $4,815,100. United States Senator Saxby Chambliss served as the Honorary Chairman of this year's tournament. Honorary Co-Chairmen were Senator Johnny Isakson and United States Congressmen Jim Marshall. A large tournament committee chaired by community leader Eddie Wiggins planned the event which was sponsored by 67 businesses and individuals. A group of 139 volunteer ambassadors assisted golfers during the tournament.
